The vast aggregation of my stepmother's relations migrated to the house's rear and conversed amongst themselves in the kitchen. The children ungainly chased each other thereabout the spacious estate, and the adults each took their turn speaking with my stepmother. And the matriarch of the clan, remained in her room, where she had resided unseen for several years. I alone gaited around the front yard's boundaries. I always loathed these visits. Once the adults got relatively intoxicated, and the conversations began to flatten, I knew I would become their entertainment, against my own volition.
"William!," my stepmother's mother demanded.
A little boy, maybe two years younger than me, appeared from within accumulation of people, "Yes?"
"Why don't you go get Socks? That dog's probably tired of being on that chain."
"Alright, gra'ma," he said, beaming. He unleashed the Rotwieler and allowed it to roam into the house, then all the children gathered around it and patted his head.
"No, put 'im out in the front yard. Fresh air's good for dogs," she prompted. William opened the door and led the dog out to the front.
As soon as that behemoth of a canine had spotted me, it began to snarl and drool profusely. The crowd of people then commuted to the foyer area, and peered at me through the windows as the beast maliciously drafted me around the front yard. It's monstrous teeth punctured my arms and shoulders, and I could feel warm hemorrhage trickle down my neck and back. I tried to run, but was instantly apprehended my the fierce jaws of the animal. From the windows, I could see most of them, uproarious with laughter in the safety of the house. The children stared at my bloodied body in bewilderment and looked on as my apparel was shredded into uneven ribbons. This was their entertainment.
